Ivara Orven
Ivara tests lenses by looking at ordinary cracks in her kitchen tiles.
The person
Ivara tests lenses by looking at ordinary cracks in her kitchen tiles. She distrusts standards too elaborate to reproduce outside a court. She has built a cheap lamp that exposes the treaty stones’ drift, then hidden it because shopkeepers depend on the value of those same stones for their savings.
Place in the family
Their children are Cael Orven and Nessa Orven. Family authority does not settle the disagreement described above.
Cael inherited a country small enough to cross in a long day and a standard used across a continent.
Nessa reads erased notes by holding paper against cold lamp glass.
House Orven holds the principality only while the Weight Court certifies its instruments.
Sovel certified the old heat measures and insists they were correct under the conditions used.
Hedra records the sound of furnace valves by making notches in a wooden flute.
Meret married into the crown while working as a nursery grafting apprentice.
