The Northern Survey
Surveyors replaced fixed border claims with seasonal navigation markers.
What happened
The first survey established that a channel could move while treaties remained still. Its removable poles became a northern model of honest cartography. Vessa Rusk repeated the route in 683 and recovered a permanently warm jar beside one old marker. The later discovery is recorded separately so the original survey is not credited with knowledge it did not possess.
Where to look
The event is anchored at Wandering Narrows. Related witnesses and institutions appear in the connections rather than being treated as a detached chronology.

Independent listeners heard a child asking to go home inside the fortress cedar.
Surveyors found warm water beneath old ice and collected the jar now examined in Garnetrun.
The tidekeeper ordered a precautionary evacuation before the next unscheduled opening upstream.
