Places worth a story
Vesper Array’s towers face the sky while its streets belong to the people maintaining them. The brightest signs identify free kitchens and emergency shelters rather than luxury shops.
The Array’s telescope archive contains the same eleven-hour interval as the advance signal. Astronomer Iven Ro believes the relay is repeating observations stored by an older civilization. His evidence is persuasive until a message names his daughter Tala Ro, who was born long after the archive began.
