Fara Damar
Fara negotiates between arriving crews and households asked to shelter them.
The person
Fara negotiates between arriving crews and households asked to shelter them. She refuses to promise hospitality without also arranging food. Married to Neris, she hears more honest complaints in the communal kitchen than in the council chamber. She wants refugee representatives elected before the next grain levy forces them to pay for decisions they cannot influence.
Place in the family
Married to Neris Damar. Their children are Tessa Damar, Rovan Damar and Meli Damar.
Rovan practices capsizing an empty boat so his crews learn what rescue feels like from the water.
Tessa collects signatures for extending the keel vote and keeps the sheets in waterproof cloth rather than a ceremonial chest.
Meli braids a colored strand into every school training rope so repairs remain visible.
The Damars became tidekeepers by turning a toll pier into a rescue station.
Neris receives foreign captains in a warehouse whose doors remain open during council meetings.
Qirarden allowed displaced sailors to train as pilots, without yet giving them equal council votes.
